Our membership includes current and retired business and professional people from a wide range of backgrounds. Together we bring a wealth of experience, skills, and enthusiasm to everything we do.

Our Club enjoys strong leadership, excellent support from members and partners, genuine camaraderie, an active social programme, and a growing membership of people who are passionate about serving others.

As Rotarians, we are People of Action, committed to creating positive change in both our local community and around the world. By combining our experience, teamwork, and commitment to service, we are able to undertake projects that make a real and lasting difference.

Guided by Rotary International's theme, "Creating Lasting Impact," we strive to ensure that every community project we undertake, every initiative we support, and every young leader we encourage creates benefits that extend well into the future.

Our Club is always looking for opportunities to serve the community.

Through our Community Service, Youth (New Generations), International Service, and Women's and Children's Health committees, we identify worthwhile projects where we can contribute our time, expertise, practical skills, or financial support.

Whether it is working alongside community organisations, supporting local initiatives, or responding to emerging needs, our members are committed to making a positive difference.

 

One of our flagship initiatives is the Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) programme. Each year, more than 1,200 Year 12 students from schools across the Bay of Plenty participate in this one-day programme, helping young drivers develop safer attitudes and behaviours on the road.

We also provide hands-on support for local schools and proudly sponsor the Interact Club at ACG Tauranga. Interact gives young people the opportunity to develop leadership skills while making a positive contribution through practical service and fundraising for community projects.

Our members actively contribute to the ongoing development of the Kopurererua Valley (K Valley) Reserve, participating in regular native tree planting projects.

We have also supported the House of Science by helping prepare science resource kits for distribution to local primary schools before the organisation received full Government support.

These are just two examples of the many local projects our members have supported over the years.

Fundraising is an important part of enabling our community service. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and supporters, every dollar we raise locally is invested back into local organisations and community projects.

Our fundraising activities include the Great Tauranga Duck Race, which raised more than $35,000 this year, our annual Charity Golf Tournament, quiz nights, and a range of other enjoyable community events.

While our focus is strongly local, we are also proud to support The Rotary Foundation, Rotary's international charity. Through The Rotary Foundation, Rotarians around the world work to eradicate polio, respond to natural disasters, promote peace, improve health and education, and strengthen communities in developing countries.
