Find out How and Why to participate in Youth Exchange
Rotary International Youth Exchange is back having been sidelined by Covid for a couple of years. We have been asked by our Districts Youth Exchange chairman to consider being a host club for an incoming European inbound student arriving around June 2023 and leaving June 2024.

Our Rotary club has a proud history of hosting many inbound students from around the globe.

"What the program offers to and asks of participants — an openness to new ideas and experiences, a willingness to adapt and to gain new perspectives, and an opportunity to make new friends and learn new ways of living — are the same values that define Rotary itself."

Karen and I plan on hosting an informal information evening where any of you who might like to consider being a host family can come and learn all there is to know about hosting a young adult. We will have past host parents there along with a couple of past District International Youth Exchange chairman and their better halves.

One of the urban myths is that you must have teenagers at home or be a couple to host, this is simply not the case. Take the time to read the information about international youth exchange via the above link and if you are keen to be challenged, step outside your comfort zone and learn more then let me know by return note by the 24th of September. Once we get an idea of numbers then we will set a date.

kind regards
